Principle:

In nature, any object with a temperature above absolute zero (-273℃) emits energy in the form of electromagnetic radiation across a very wide range of wavelengths. Thermal imagers utilize infrared principles, employing infrared detectors and optical imaging lenses to receive the infrared radiation energy distribution pattern of the target being measured. This pattern is reflected onto the photosensitive elements of the infrared detector, thereby obtaining an infrared thermal image. This thermal image corresponds to the thermal distribution field on the surface of the object. Simply put, an infrared thermal imager converts the invisible infrared energy emitted by an object into a visible thermal image. Different colors on the thermal image represent different temperatures of the object being measured. By viewing the thermal image, the overall temperature distribution of the target can be observed, the heat generation of the target can be studied, and judgments can be made for the next steps.

Applications:

The earliest applications of infrared thermal imagers originated in the military field, but they have since been widely used in power inspection, electrical equipment maintenance, industrial automation, security monitoring, forest fire prevention, fire rescue, law enforcement, and many other fields.
